Bruce Barnes lives
and works in Bradford, West Yorkshire. His poems have appeared
in magazines, anthologies, and poetry competition shortlists,
including a first in the Ilkley Literature Festival Poetry
Competition 1998, runner up thrice in the Yorkshire Open, and a
third prize in the Trewithen Poetry Prize in 2002. He likes
competitions for their confirmation that he might be getting it
right, and similarly likes work-shopping his poetry. He’s co-ordinator
of Bradford Poetry Workshop and a member of the poetry
performance group Interchange.
Bruce has published
two collections of poetry; The Lovelife of the Absent-Minded,
Phoenix Press 1993, and Somewhere Else, Utistugu Press
